Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced VB.NET Developer specializing in migrating applications from VB.NET to C# ASP.NET. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in .NET frameworks, with extensive experience in both VB.NET and C#. This role will involve assessing existing VB.NET applications, planning the migration strategy, and executing the migration process while ensuring functionality, performance, and code quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and understand existing applications built in VB.NET to develop an effective migration strategy to C# ASP.NET.
• Plan and execute the migration process, ensuring that all application features and functionalities are accurately transferred.
• Refactor and optimize migrated code for improved performance, readability, and maintainability in C#.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA and DevOps, to ensure a smooth transition and maintain application quality.
• Identify and resolve compatibility issues between VB.NET and C#, updating code to align with modern .NET standards.
• Document the migration process, including any architectural or code modifications made during the migration.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to team members as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in .NET development, with hands-on expertise in both VB.NET and C# ASP.NET.
• Proven experience in migration projects from VB.NET to C# ASP.NET.
• Strong knowledge of .NET frameworks and libraries, with the ability to translate VB.NET patterns to modern C# solutions.
• Familiarity with SQL Server and database integration within .NET applications.
• Experience with version control tools, especially Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to create clear technical documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ASP.NET MVC and Entity Framework.
• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
